She may help you conquer 'Candida'*
by Paula Carlson - Staff Reporter
Are you tired all the time? Suffering from digestive problems or recurrent
respiratory problems? Having difficulty remembering things?
Registered nurse and acupuncturist
Colet Lahoz may be able to help.
Lahoz, a health practitioner
and author based in the U.S., is coming to Surrey next week to speak about
the growing incidence of fungal infections in the general population.
Due to stress, poor diets,
and regular use of antibiotics, Lahoz says many people are suffering from
an overgrowth of the yeast Candida albicans in their bodies.
Candida--like many
beneficial microbes--inhabits the intestinal tract of healthy people.
However, if Candida multiplies, the yeast can develop into a fungus--causing
myriad health problems such as fatigue, mood swings, painful joints, poor
digestion, allergies, skin problems and more. This condition is known
as Candida Related Complex (CRC).
"So many people have
this," said Lahoz in an interview from her Minnesota home. "But the problem
is, medical establishment still does not recognize it."
Lahoz dedicates much of her
time traveling throughout North America to educate people about CRC.
Through proper diet and "eastern"
methods of medicine such as cleansing and acupuncture, Lahoz, who is originally
from the Philippines, has seen many patients recover.
Many of their stories are
featured in her book, Conquering Yeast Infections--The Non-Drug Solution
for Men and Women.
"Don't wait until symptoms
evolve into major disease," advises Lahoz.
For local residents who have
more questions about CRC, Lahoz will speak at the Strawberry Hills Chapters
on Thursday, Sept. 16 at 7:30 p.m.
She will also be available
at Nutrition House, located in Guildford Town Centre, on Friday, Sept.
17 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lahoz has also a website at www.mm.com/eastwest.
