Candida Diet Guidelines

Foods to avoid:
- Sugar in all forms
including very ripe fruits. In severe conditions avoid fruits for the
first three months. In milder conditions some fruits may be tolerated.
Sugar in other forms such as honey. Molasses, syrups and brown
sugar are also eliminated. Do not use NutraSweet , it feeds the candida.
Stevia or vegetable glycerin are recommended as sugar substitute.
- Dessert foods: cookies, cakes, pies, ice cream,candy.
- Alcoholic beverages and all beverages containing sugar
- Condiments and food items that contain vinegar: catchup, mustard, mayonnaise, canned sauces, salad dressing, pickles, sauerkraut, etc.
- Food items containing yeast
including Brewer’s yeast, nutritional yeast (check your
labels for ingredients) baked goods, breads, buns, rolls, crackers,
luncheon meats etc.

Do not use any condiment containing sugar or vinegar. Use lemon instead of vinegar
Fruits
Fruits are not allowed in phase 1, (first three months or until you are
80% improved) when you re introduce fruits 2 to 3 servings per weeks to
start with and increase servings if symptoms do not reappear .
Semi ripe fruits are preferred because they have less sugar
content.

Sweeteners
In phase 1 limit to Stevia or vegetable glycerin
In phase2 and thereafter you may use 1 to 2 teaspoons daily of honey or pure maple syrup.
